The global tourism industry is finally recovering from the financial crisis, a new report said, China and other emerging market have become the main driving force, and in the next 10 years, they will continue to grow in the higher rate than the global economy.
According to a new report, China will become the strong driving force in global tourism after 10 years growth. Oxford Economics Advisory Group’s research on Amadeus travel agency shows that, in the next ten years, the growth of tourism industry will be higher than the global economic which is in large degree thanks to China and other major emerging countries, such as India, Indonesia, Russia and Brazil.
Mozart said in a statement that "in the next ten years, the global tourism industry will continue to maintain growing and by 2023, China will account for 20% of the global travel, becoming the main driving force."
The report said that the rapid growth middle class in China will surpass USA , becoming the world's largest outbound tourism market and the largest domestic tourism market in 2017. According to the report, the global tourism industry finally gets rid of the financial crisis nightmare.
Amadeus travel agency’s vice president Holger Teberman said in a statement that "analysts predicted that the tourism industry will emerge a new golden age which is a good news for many industries which just begin to pull out of the recession."
Asian business tourism is booming. The report points out that in the next ten years, the Asian market will account for more than half of the global business and only until 2018, can the restore to the level before the financial crisis in 2008.
With the new demand, business travel will return once again. However, western market’s short business trips level can return to 2008 until 2018. in the next 10 years, the Asian business growth will account for 55% of the global business growth among which only Northeast Asia’s overseas travel consumption growth will occupy 42% of the global business travel consumption growth while South Asia will account for 13%.
The growth in air travel of India, Indonesia and Russia and other emerging economies is in the top place in the world and the non OECD member countries will be the first time surpassing the OECD member countries in 2023, becoming the biggest driving force of the global air travel.
China’s overseas tourism growth rate in 2014 increased greatly, surpassing American becoming the world’s largest overseas tourist source market. in the next 10 years, the number of Chinese families that can afford foreign travel will increase over one time. At the same time, relying on the rapid growth of GDP and the level of employment and high consumption of the crowd, China will also become the world’s largest domestic tourism market in 2017.
